Yahoo Panama Search Advertising On Wall Street
This week the Wall Street Journal reported that Yahoo’s Panama launch has been a bumpy road. The article includes assertions that Yahoo provides great service to Coke but not smaller customers. Included are descriptions of Panama Search Advertising customers who lost days of income, were down for over 36 hours, and other ugly anecdotes. Though stock prices have been affected, the troubles are generally categorized as those which might be associated with such a big conversion process.
I reported my Panama Geo-Targeting trials and tribulations in this forum on December 13th in an article entitle “Panama Geo-Targeting Pain" after several disheartening interactions with street-level tech reps while transitioning clients from Overture Legacy to Panama. Yahoo admitted (in a post by yahoosara in the SEW forum) missing functionality in the geo-targeting system and spun the troubles as “upcoming enhancements” as opposed missing functionality that we were previously led to expect.
Though we serve national clients with noticeable PPC budgets and organic SEO objectives, aimClear is a just a boutique search engine optimization shop in Duluth, Minnesota. It is heartening to know that when a little guy like us yells into space at a large interest like Yahoo (if everyone else does too) Wall Street listens. |
